Does NeoOffice support the Apple Remote that comes with MacBook? I'm specifically looking for a powerpoint style program where I can change slides with the Apple Remote.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. |

Welcome to NeoOffice pr0t3an,
I can't find anything that says NeoOffice supports the Apple Remote. NeoOffice is a Aqua Mac port of OpenOffice.org Office Suite. OOo was developed as a Windows, Linux, Solaris, Office Suite and has very little knowledge of the Mac world.
Others may have additional information.
It's not a perfect Mac program, but it's the Very Best, Free, MS Office compatible, Office Suite that "I" have found for my Mac. I'm happy camper.

There has been a posting about successfully using Salling Clicker (and your bluetooth phone) for a slideshow with NeoOffice. It is a bit fiddly to set up but it works. |

iRed Lite might be able to. I've downloaded it and poked at it, but haven't actually used it. It might be able to mimic a keystroke though, letting you get this kind of functionality. |

This works:
http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/presentationremote/homepage.spml
(with OOo too)
Keyspan reissued the cheap Chinese clone that whatever reseller I bought mine from was. It's the identical thing, just a different key color. Used it back when I was at OSXCON and people thought I was interesting enough to be invited to speak (or other blowholes had the connections to convince folk that I was interesting to get folk to do them favours...)

As a previous poster mentioned, iRed Lite does the job. However, accidentally I missed to add OpenOffice Impress support to the current build. Please contact me for the Impress additions, which will give you a hint on how to manage the NeoOffice integration.

Remote buddy is compatible with all MAC apps and I use it all the time for Neo Office, iTunes, MS Office, Acrobat, iPhoto and more.
It's $12 and well worth it.

I was just thinking the same thing.
Great minds think alike?

Be sure to consult the wiki for the latest updates, but there's also NeoRemote mentioned here.

I'm aware of the tools like mira etc., but is there still a chance that NeoOffice may feature native Apple Remote support anytime soon, despite of its OpenOffice codebase?
Mac apps such as "The Tube" support the remote without any addons, which is really cool. How likely is it for NeoOffice to include that feature, too, in, let's say, one of the upcoming NeoOffice 3.x releases? |
