|
There are lists of extensions out there (e.g. here).
Do they work with NeoOffice? Are there ones that work well / are recommended? Are there ones that are duplicative of what is already in NeoOffice? Are there ones to avoid?
Looked in Neowiki but couldn't find much useful. Possibly operator error
As always any pointers much appreciated. |

NeoOffice should be able to use any OpenOffice.org extension, as long as:
- the extension is compatible with OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 (on which NeoOffice 2.2.1, 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 are based);
- the extension is not specific to a given operating system (system-independent);

There isn't an Extensions page in the wiki (at least not yet). But there are links to some extensions on the other pages. The Clipart, Templates, and Using Macros pages all have links to some extensions, I think.

Note that even some extensions that are listed as operating system independent may not work properly on Mac OS X or Neo or may behave oddly. This is due to the way OOo handles some extensions by trying to run them in a separate process. Thus far I've seen this primarily affect extensions written in Java that are attempting to use Swing to implement their user interfaces, such as the language tool. It may affect other extensions as well.
If the extension does work fine in Neo, however, feel free to contact the developer and let them know that they can add Mac OS X to the list of supported platforms
