I've not done this myself, so I can't give any advice, but I know it is possible and someone will come along in a little while and tell you how. In the meantime does this wiki page help at all?

Are your custom fonts OpenType fonts? If so, you will not be able to use them. This is because OpenType fonts are Windows fonts and the Mac OS X text layout functions that NeoOffice uses does not support OpenType fonts. Apple's Mac OS X code does support the less common AAT fonts, but not OpenType fonts.

I don't you can convert a Windows OpenType font to an AAT font easily. Both formats will have a .ttf file extension, the difference is that OpenType and AAT have different custom font extensions.

I would say that you best bet is to see if you can find Mac versions of the .ttf files. Although most font download sites only show Windows fonts, some of the bigger font vendors release both Windows and Mac versions of their fonts.

Right, and to "convert" an OpenType Arabic font into an AAT Arabic font, you'd have to recreate all the instructions telling the font to do the ligatures and joining--essentially re-implement the font's programming.

The Alternative Fonts page lists a couple of places that have free AAT Arabic fonts to supplement the handful that ship with Mac OS X.
