Hi,
working at a thesis for a couple of years I always tried to keep organized. Nevertheless, I got different folders (directories) where the documents are: some are papers for a given speech, others excerpts of essays or books, others just notes.
When I print a document it would be fine if the path (where that document is located at my Mac) would be automatically on top of the text or in the footing, so I can relocate it easiely. A couple of days later I don't remember where the printed document is at the Mac and I have to search for it again. Sure, that search goes fast but still it annoys. Now I often copy the path manually right after the heading. For instance: "In: Studium/Sem08". (sub-question: I get out of dataset / attributes; can I get the path into the document view ... there are so many view options but none with the path as far as I can see).
I looked in the menu "insert field command" (German translation), where the page number, date etc. are but did not find the path.
Is there any way to get the path into the document automatically? _________________ servus, tschau, bye

To insert a file path/name in your document...
In the English language version you need to choose Insert::Fields::Other. In the dialog that appears, click the Document tab. In the Type section choose File Name, and in the format section choose Path/File Name and click Insert.
I hope this helps.

Hi James,
yep, that's it. I already was at the tab with the filename but didn't click it because I looked for something like path (the filename is in the upmost bar anyway). Now I've got it. Thanks. _________________ servus, tschau, bye
