|
If I copy and paste into a NeoOffice text document it pastes exactly (with font and other formatting from the source) but 90% of the time I want to paste using the format I have set up in NeoOffice (destination formatting). To do this I have to paste special, which involves several more steps (and Ctrl + Sht + V instead of Ctrl + V). Is there any way to make the default paste adapt the destination formatting? |

CocaLeaf,
I have not "official" say but I think that would require a major change to the underlying code. Plus this kind of change would mess up things for everyone else.
So I would say - Yes, That would be a ... NO.

having an option to set one or the other as a default would not mess up things for everyone else |

Actually, you ought to be able to set up a special AppleScript macro that does just what you need, assuming you can run NeoOffice from AppleScript. But it won't be able to change the behavior of the [Command]-V key.
Or else use the key combination: [Shift]-[Command]-V, which would work within NeoOffice Writer and presumably any other NeoOffice application.
Use it a few times and it will become second nature. |

Making Cmd-Shift-V second nature is the key (no pun intended )
As with anything else, once I get used to it it will cease to be a problem.
Thank you |

You can also replace the toolbar button with a Paste Special button.
Best wishes,
