I have submitted the following to NeoOffice Bugzilla.
Is that the correct thing to do?

Quote:
Using:
NeoOfficeJ 1.1 ß w/patch 8
DragThing 5.5.1
Mac OS X 10.3.8

I get
a spinning ball over the DragThing docks
DragThing menus cannot be accessed - same spinning ball
normal function of the Apple Dock
normal function of NeoOfficeJ

This does not occur using X11 and OOo 1.1.2, or 1.1.4, or 1.9.83

Yes, Bugzilla is the preferred place to report crashes, freezes, and other bugs.

I'd also recommend looking into DragThing to see if they have any bug reporting facilities available. With interapplication issues it's very tempting to just start finger pointing at one another w/o doing anything. If NeoJ is causing issues, then I'd suspect there may be other programs that might cause DragThing to go catatonic as well.

Also, while not much of an issue with DragThing, it can be expected that most likely we won't be able to look into any issues with any haxies or software we have to purchase Smile

First, a fable:
Quote:
Three crows were flying over a farm and spotted a pile of manure with a pitchfork stuck in it.
They flew down for a meal.
After a small amount, the first crow climbed the handle and flew off.
The second crow ate more, climbed the handle, and had a real struggle to get into flight.
The third crow gorged him/herself, climbed the handle, tried to fly off, and fell straight down, dying in the crash.

Moral; Never fly off the handle when you are full of shit!

Second:
(1) When I tried using the same combo on another machine - no problem.
(2) When I replaced the app - problem gone. For some reason (a little voice) I decided to do this rather than use the conventional way of dealing with Preferences.

For your indulgence -
