Installed neooffice with patch-8.
Set up template for word doc with file type windows xp.
Now I want to export to PDF.
Tried export, export as pdf, export directly as pdf to create a pdf, the resulting pdf is fine under preview on the mac.
However when I change the openning app to adobe reader 6.0.3 it is unable to open as "There was an error while trying to parse an image".
Tried printing, then under the mac osx box print as pdf, pdf is created however only have of the page is printed. Despite the fact under preview it shows the whole page.
What I want.
Solve the pdf printing problem under neoofficej and solve the half page situation under printing under the mac save as pdf.
Any solutions ?
I am new to neooffice as of last week.
Thanks in advance.

When you're using "Export to PDF" toolbar button in NeoJ or File > Export, you're actually going through a completely different path of code then when you use "Save as PDF" after choosing File > Print. The "Export to PDF" toolbar button uses PDF generation code that's unique to OpenOffice.org while the "Save as PDF" from the Print dialog uses Apple's own Mac OS X print driver PDF generation code.
If you're finding problems with one of them, you're best off trying to use the other. Both of them will generate slightly different PDFs. If one works and the other doesn't, it's best to use the one that works
I have found the fix around for me, as for some reason, the Mac OS X print driver PDF cut my document in half. Not sure why.
It does not matter whether I use export, export as pdf or export directly as pdf from neooffice, the resulting pdf is fine under preview on the mac. I then use the mac preview to open the file and print is as a pdf. This is openable under adobe.
Now I understand from your clarification why this is so.

Do you have a sample document that illustrates the half-page cutoff from the Mac OS X PDF (File > Print)? If so, please file a bug with it in IssueZilla and attach the document as an issue, if possible.
Glad that at least one of the PDF exports worked for you
Bear with me, folks. After 22 years in Wintel-land [and predecessors], I've switched to OS X via my shiny new Mac Mini. Since I already was squirming out from under M$oft, I've been using OOo for a year -- and have tons of .doc and.sxw files, mostly aimed at my gig; so, I REALLY need access. Didn't want to fuss w/OOo for OS X, refuse to buy M$oft WORD for OS X -- and all my trials, to date. w/NeoOffice look golden.
I've posted to this end at MacWorld.
I have come up with one problem which I will try to research here; but, haven't bumped into any Search function. It may take a while.
The internal modem in the Mini is a somewhat unstable Motorola. Apple says they've sorted it out. In practice, the slightest hiccup and the critters locks up big-time. Everything. The 1st time I tried to fax from N/O Word, I locked up worse than any previous. Took me all day and cleaning, flushing, rewatting and repairing everything on my whole desk to get back to functioning, again.
I'm posting this here -- because I HAD converted a .doc to .pdf using "export to" -- because that was what I was used to with OOo. I see, now, that may have been the cause of the crash when I went to fax. The folks at PDFPen [a happy find since I've joined the Mac Planet] suggest the best way to fax a .pdf is from Preview; but, I managed to crash, then, as well.
I'm already up to 10.3.8 -- and I just downloaded Patch 9. I'll let you know what happens when I get the nerve to try, again.
I hate it when I have to turn on my WXP Tower to get through the work-day -- when I have my new, quiet Mini and an office that hasn't been this quiet since I put away my Tandy Model 100 in 1985!

First of all, welcome!
As for your problem: Print preview and direct export give two completely different routes to a PDF. Try both, though the direct export tends to give smaller files.
If something crashes file the doc and any resulting PDF bits to a bug with the crash log. Patrick spent a lot of time on the PDF export code so he should be able to tell what the problem is . _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

Patch 9 fixes the problem.
The page is not cropped anymore when File > Print > Save as PDF.
Solved this problem very nicely.
Thank you for the work done.
It does amaze me that people are willing to do the hardwork.
