This one stumped me. I'm not sure if this is a general OOo 1.0.3 problem with importing Word files, therefore probably fixed in 1.1, or whether it's the OSX port. When I import a word file with bulleted lists, some of the bulleted points (and it seems completely random which) come in deleted, but still visible through Track Changes. If I delete the Track Changes history list, they reappear in the document. Any ideas?

I think it's a generic Word import problem that is on the slate of 1.1 fixes. I recall reading in one of the feature lists that bullet importing from Word is better. While I don't know the specifics, I do know that OOo 1.0.x displays its bullets using the OpenSymbol font included with OOo. I'm not sure what Word is using offhand, but I think it's Wingdings (?) and the errors may arise from trying to match the symbols from the two fonts.

For quite a few reasons, I'm desperately waiting for a final 1.1 version for X11. My boss doesn't know right now that I'm not using Word, and the better the filters, the less likely it is that I'll get told to go back to the dark side. javascript:emoticon('')
