|
Hey, Folks --
Otherwise most impressed by this suite -- I'm apparently one of the few that welcomes AutoComplete function (which is working fine). But I cannot get AutoCorrect to work by any means. This is 1.1 Release Candidate Patch 3, on a new iBook. I selected English (USA), and checked both M & T boxes next to "Use Replacement Table." I get the red squiggly line, but no AutoCorrect.
If there's a wiki entry or something, would appreciate a pointer - or any other help! Thanks in advance.

You also appear to need to have selected menu item Format>Autoformat>While Typing in order to get 'live' autocorrect. Autocorrect appears to be part of autoformatting, rather than a separate entity.
This works for me (NeoJ RC plus Patch 4).

D'oh! I may have found it eventually, but thanks for pointing out the solution! |

Er ... now that AutoCorrect & AutoFormat are working beautifully, anybody know of a way to not have that proud little light bulb pop up in the corner every time two hyphens are changed to an en-dash, etc.? Not to be less than amazed and appreciative ... |

Go to the "Help" menu and uncheck "Help Agent". That's the dip ass Clippy light bulb that tries to offer you helpful advice when the program thinks it does something that's so clever it warrants your attention (like saving a file in its own format...how ostentatious).

Thanks, dude or dudette ... in fact, it seems that if you ignore the light bulb, it eventually stops reappearing for that particular correction. But why not just give it the rest of the day off? Reminds me of the paper-clip Bill Gates avatar, who I must admit was easier to disable. Have a good day, week, whatever ...
