Could someone please let me know how to save a text-document as read only so that when I send it as an attachment it opens up as read-only for the recipient? Thanks.

There are three possibilities.

1. Save as a .pdf file

2. Save with a password. This only works with the NeoOffice file format. But this is not compatible with Word (at least it used not to be in Neo 1.1 which means the reader cannot open the document).

3. Save with a change password. All changes to the doc are recorded. To do this go to Edit - Changes - Protect Records - enter password. However, this only means that the same document cannot be saved with the same metadata. The reader can still copy and paste and create a new document, as you would be able to do with a pdf doc. This is fully Word compatible.
