Hi all.

I'm trying to make a document with mixed portrait and landscape pages, but where the header is always on the top of the narrow part of the page.

I am able to get the portrait and landscape part figured out, but the header on the landscape page shows up on the long edge of the page.

I investigate the page definition in the help and they mention somethign about text orientation that should be in the define page dialog, but it is not there.

Can you help?

Thanks

I can't imagine being able to do this with the default built-in Header but I can imagine creating two Page Styles ("Portrait" and "Landscape") in the Stylist and 'imitating' the header by using a fixed position Frame to contain the text you would like to use in the header on each page.

In the case of the Landscape page, you would just need to rotate the same Frame 90 degrees and also the text which it contains. Then lock its position and contents.

Trust this helps.

Also, be aware that:
* people have reported problems printing mixes of landscape and portrait pages
* your footers to fall off if the page if the page settings in the print dialog are different from those in NeoOffice/J

Good luck,
Oscar

I found a solution...

1. I inserted a page break where needed with a landscape layout.

2. I created/inserted my table.

3. Instead of using a header in the landscape page style I used a footer.

4. I inserted the page number field right justified and used the format character > text direction option to rotate the page number to the correct orientation once printed.

I was able to print fine with mix of portrait and landscape pages with no difficulty.

Thanks for your ideas!

Ken
