That was the base of Neo/C which is QuickDraw based (using NSQDView within an NSWindow) and was written by Patrick and his old team at Sun. None of the fixes for it are donated back to OOo from Neo/C, and neither will they be. I only moved back in minimal compilation support as time permitted. |
Not a lot of help for them, then. Though it is nice that the code still works..
But, come to think of it, isn't Quickdraw officially deprecated now? _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

As of 10.4, yes. Deprecated, but still supported for applications to use. It won't be able to take advantage of Q2DExtreme and other upcoming technologies. But at least it has XOR.

Yuck! We'll have to see where this goes (and should this conversation not be somewhere else?)

Yeah, conversation's offtopic again. Should we just lock this neverending topic?
To bring it roughly back on topic...all of the performance patches have been superceded by the patch-3 with java 1.4.2 update 2 and Neo 1.2 alpha.

I'm going to work on a PowerPoint Presentation to see if I can 'fix' it. This particular presentation has many, many lines in it. Unfortunately, I cannot release it to the NeoOffice public because it pertains to my 'real' job and is proprietary. All other documents appear to work fine. Fabrizo (sp?) pointed out a problem with creating Database files with dates a while back and I'm wondering if that problem is fixed.

date problem is still there, so I think it has to be in Oo 1.1.5 code.

PM me with the steps (or the topic title) and I will test against OpenOffice 2.0 for MacOSX. If the problem still exists, I will submit an IssueZilla (or update the existing one.)
At least this is NOT a NeoOffice problem.
Thanks.

On a side note, my activity monitor is showing that grep is active as part of NeoOffice. I started the application yesterday so it cannot be a leftover that will go away soon. I also still do not have a NeoOffice folder in my ~/Library.
I expect these are correllated, but not sure. Running NeoOffice 1.2 patch 1. Should I file a bug about this? _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

It should be in ~/Library/Preferences, not ~/Library (as was 1.1 prefs).

Ok, right. found that. But that still leaves a loose grep... _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

Does grep 'die' when you quite NeoOffice? I can look at this and confirm on Tiger if this happens.

The grep command is normal. I use grep to filter out the huge number of useless status messages that Java tries to print in the console log every time you paint after invoking the Graphics2D.setComposite() method.

Our console.logs appreciate that
