When you delete a file from within N/O file browser by right-clicking on it, the file is immediately deleted. This has always been the case and is not related to the performance patch. Could this be modified so as to send the file to the recycle bin? I believe this behaviour is probably in line with the behaviour of other applications (e.g. iPhoto, Mail etc), but the latter also frequently have their own "recycle bin".

This will go away when we have native file pickers. I know it's kind of a cop-out answer, but it's probably the best way to solve it. We can't really replace the low-level "delete" function to move to the recycle bin since it's needed for erasing temp files and other operations. I'm not quite sure where all of the places in the UI that could trigger a file delete similar to that context menu would be.
