OK, after all of the confusion regards OOo 2.0 X11 and such and after getting some feedback, I reorganized the forums a bit. Instead of being grouped by general purpose, the forums are now split into the separate applications. I hope this will allow people to help get their support questions to the right place (a lot of Neo support questions were going into X11...on that note, we may want to put a sticky topic at the top of the Neo support forum telling folks that OOo X11 questions should go to the other forum, but folks won't read that anyway).

Feedback welcome.

I like the new format. Grouping by product type seems a lot more sensible than intermingling the various products. Thanks for also changing all of the "NeoOffice/J" references to "NeoOffice" in preparation for our upcoming NeoOffice 1.2 Alpha release.

so that the support fora were at the top.

Maybe the X11 development forum should be moved to legacy and sealed? We don't so anything on that front - everything is/should be covered on dev@porting.. It seems somehow redundant (and yes, I noticed I was the last person to post there..).

Other than that it definetely looks nicer Smile. Well done!

Best wishes,
Oscar

I like the new layout too. I went in just after it changed and said "Hey, this is different". I like it alot. NeoOffice in front, other stuff, X11, closed stuff. The OOo 2.0 readme/notes are good too.

Patrick, I STRONGLY agree that the developers of stuff (OOo 2.0) should clean up their own ... messes. A little pain is ? good??

I can express enough Thanks to all for their efforts! You ROCK!

OK, so the new layout will stay Smile

As to moving X11 development to legacy, that's up to anyone using it. Even I did all of my development related correspondance on the dev@porting mailing list and not here. The problem was that in the previous layout that had a Development category, an X11 forum was needed to flesh things out (OOo/NeoJ/NeoC trifecta...which at the time was a good bet...we are only how beginning to be able to judge how the exacta is really playing out Wink )

Makes it easier for me to ignore that section Smile Maybe I'll start coming by regularly again.

If no one from the X11 team commits to stopping by regularly (daily/every two days) to check for and answer any questions in that forum, I strongly suggest moving it to the legacy category with a sticky in it saying "Go to dev@porting", as it's a dis-service to people to present it as an active resource when it isn't. And unlike the X11 support/testing fora, I don't think the questions in X11 dev can be answered by the existing community members.
