This is a fresh compilation of the intel build.

I never see wavy lines, and the spellcheck menu command always returns instantly saying "Spellcheck complete". I do have misspelled words, however.

This happens both on a new document and on a saved and reloaded odt.

Ah, I found the answer. My default language for documents (in Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages) was English (Canada). I changed that to a language with a dictionary installed, and all is well.

i believe there was some disussion about that on the porting list as well. seems that installing the new RC reset that preference... i think. honestly i was only halfway paying attention =)
