I noticed that as well. Let's see whether we can keep this up. We are snowed in and probably won't get out until tomorrow or the day after. Must organise a party or something and see whether some people are happy to walk through the drifts.

You're obviously not in balmy Edinburgh, then, getting snowed in in March!

Nope. In the Highlands between Dundee and Aberdeen. Today even the sheep look miserable. It has been snowing non-stop for about 9 hours now and it doesn't look as if it would stop soon. We were able to persuade some people to walk a mile or so through the snow for some Feuerzangenbowle and food. Looks like a nice afternoon in front of the fire now 'Very Happy'

Tr: a hot toddy? punch?

Sounds like brass monkey weather there, as they say in Aust. Been 32-38 degrees here this past week. Hope the fire warms you up: if not, the Feuerzangenbowle will have to do the warming. ;D

Sorry, JakeOSX for being so undisciplined. Just to report, it is amazing but we will be able to get down the road tomorrow. A neighbour came up with his tractor/digger and started the relief operation.

..or was he bearing new supplies of Feuerzangenbowle?..sorry, no more asides after this one Wink...I am a scot-o-phile from 30 years ago: the "magic, scorrching" summer of '76 in Edinburgh, when the locals lay on the grass in full sun in the Botanic Gardens with their "trousers rolled", to quote TS Eliot Smile, and cars from the highlands one morning in March that year came into Edin. with a foot of snow on their roofs. Maybe you're in for another scorrrcher this year?

Edinburgh is not balmy!

Ok, so we only had 2 inches of snow on Saturday night (and its all melted now), but it was enough to build snowpeople with! Very Happy

And it snowed enough last week that the busses all slid gracefully to their stops, and wheelspun away again!

Now it is snowing again. So anybody with more Feuerzangenbowle supplies most welcome to drop off relief parcels by air 'Very Happy'

Try 32F this morning and I had to get out the Arizona Ice Scraper (you have one in your pocket too) to clean the mess off of the windows before I took off for my hour and a-half drive that I really should not have taken (I think I'm coming down with the flu, will really know tomorrow.)

And the fact that I can see snow in the mountains is really nice. However it is not so for the folks who live there.
