Just for confirmation here - the Export to PDF facility in Neo (and OOo presumably) doesn't do export to CMYK, it only does RGB, yes?

If so, is there an app (that doesn't cost loads - it's for a charity) that anyone knows of to convert RGB PDFs to CMYK for pre-press?

Hmm....that's a good one. I think that it does only do RGB. I actually have used nothing except Photoshop to do CYMK work myself Sad Does Gimp do CYMK yet?

There is a plug-in for The Gimp. You can find it here

but I didn't try it myself.

Not only that, but OOo doesn't support CMYK at all. It balks, borks, or crashes when trying to import/open/insert CMYK images Sad

Yes, I didn't think OOo would work with CMYK but I was hoping there was some way to export/convert PDFs. Someone at my workplace does the business newsletter in Word (all together now - sigh...) and the printer will only accept a PDF of ot - but it prints weird colours because it's RGB output, of course. I'll keep looking for a solution - if I find anything useful I'll post it here.

I think it could be better to use a programm that uses cymk; Ragtime solo could be a good no-cost solution.

Wow, cool! I had forgotten about Ragtime...nifty to see that they're still around. I'll have to check that out myself!

My aforementioned colleague does his Word 'design' in windows, which is a shame, because if I could get him on a mac he could use NeoOffice instead - which is relevant because apparently in OSX PDF export, one has the ability to tweak the ICC to export to a CMYK colourspace. If I find out more than... well, just that sentence so far, I'll post the info.
