I just noticed something funny.
I have a bunch of .doc and .xls documents. I have removed MS Office and these are mapped to NeoOffice. I'm sure that I saw the green Calc icon before.
1. The problem document was created from a .CSV file (which [correctly] shows Neo blue Writer Template icon).
1.1 Problem Doc shows Neo Writer icon, Name: LOS-Export_Outlook_XP.xls, Type: NO%F, Creator: (blank)
2. It shows the green Calc icon when it's opened in Neo-Calc
2.1 Is shows the [error] Neo blue Writer Template icon on desktop.
The Finder gets its icon cache confused all the @#$@#$@# time (and if it's not confused, it's corrupt ). I've noticed the frequency of swapped Neo icons is much higher with Aqua Beta than ever before, though, and also that deleting apps that may have claimed an association seems to make things worse.
Get Info on the file, click on the icon in the Info window, and hit delete; that should make the Finder refresh the icon for that file and fix it.

Ah, That has "some" effect.
I did that in Finder and it only fixed the one document. It did not reset all the other .xls documents.
I normally use PathFinder because FTFF.
I am able to replace individual Finder Icons with the proper one.
