Just getting started with NeoOffice and can't seem to figure this simple procedure out. I have a tab-delimited file that I want to bring into a spreadsheet to give to teachers (it's a list of their students netowrk shortnames). But if I try to open the file it opens as a text document. How do I get this info into a spreadsheet for sorting, etc? _________________ Rick Davis, ACHDS

Alternatively, iirc, there's a way to open the file from within Calc (not the normal "File: Open", but some other item somewhere), but that's a more complex way. The extension hack is a bit ugly, but it should work much more easily.

Convert your file to txt.
In finder change extention txt to csv.
Open a new calc fpage.
click File -> Open . In file type choose "texy CSV".
in the window opened check tab checkbox (if record are tab separated).
click Ok et voilÃ
