I commonly set my machine to mirror the main display onto the external display; this is guaranteed to display the same image on both. OOo does not have the "presenter" viewing option like Office '04.

The double monitor feature is not present in Presentation. I use Keynote to do that.
And this feature is not possible for every Mac: for example I have a 12" iBook G4 where is not possible to set the two different monitors, while is possible for Powerbook.

It is actually possible to set G4 iBooks to do that. Pretty harmless, or so I have been told, but it will void your warranty. See this website for details.

Best wishes,
Oscar

Tomorrow morning I will give a lesson at the University of Pisa. I've prepared my keynote and now I would like to try that, Oscar.
But since that ibook it's the only ibook I own, I think I will give a chance to that firmware-patch later next week Confused

The way to do it is to make the projector screen your primary screen and make the computer screen your secondary screen. You can then have the slide sorter on your computer while the slide show runs on the projector. Just switch back at the end of the presentation.
