I can't for the life of me figure out how to rotate a table 90 degrees so that it is sideways on the page. Any help would be appreciated. |

I don't know if there's a way to do that directly with a table, but if I were going to do it I'd create a frame, put the table in the frame and rotate the frame 90deg instead - there's more flexibility that way over where you position the table.

This one had me stumped as well. The frame idea is a rather nifty trick since it can work with any content I'll have to remember that one!

As George, Jerry & Elaine would say, "Love the frame..."

I'm trying to perform the same thing on a french version...
But I didn't manage to create a "frame".
I've tryed "section" and "cadre", but it seems not possible to rotate them.
May someone give me the french names to rotate this ... table
Thank you. |

I don't have the french version to hand, but you can see in this picture where Frame is in which menu, et puis bonne chance:

Thank you Yoxi.
So, french for frame is "cadre".
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to rotate a frame.
I've search a long time, and try to find out in the help... but... no way.
May you tell me ? |

Yes, my earlier advice above was a bit misleading, since you can't just 'rotate' a frame. You have 2 options:
i) if you just want to rotate text, you go to View-Toolbars-Drawing - choose the Text icon from the Drawing toolbar, and make a Text Box by dragging with the + cursor. Then you insert your text, then click on the Rotate icon in the top toolbar and you can rotate the box to any angle you like. But this is only good for text-only.
ii) if you make a frame, you can put tables, columns, whatever you want in it - then you click on the frame border, ctrl/right-click and choose Frame..., and in the Options tab you have the options of changing the text direction, one of which rotates the frame contents 90deg clockwise. Not very satisfactory in terms of flexibility.

Thank you again.
I've got a table to rotate.

In the options tab, I've got :
- name
- previous link
- next link
- Protect (content, position, size)
- property (read only, print)
- chain
That's all.
I'm a little bit lost here... |

Insert a table in the text, then
menu Table -> Select -> Table
Ctrl-clic in the table, in the pop-down menu Character -> Position -> Rotation
(no frame needed)
Insérez un tableau dans le texte, puis
menu Tableau -> Sélectionner -> Tableau.
Ctrl-clic dans le tableau et dans le menu contextuel Caractères -> Position -> Rotation
Un cadre n'est pas nécessaire.

The third (and last) line in the Properties section should say:
Text Direction: {Use superordinate object settings}
Which just means copy the settings from the object in which the frame was created (the main page in most cases)
If you change this setting to: {Right-to-Left (vertical)}
it will rotate the frame (and the table) 90 degrees clockwise. (Though this choice is surely wrong, as it should say Left-to-Right as choosing Right-to-Left Horizontal swaps the columns of the table over, but the vertical setting doesn't?)
Anyway, regardless if the text on the menu is correct, it does what you want - I hope!

Oh yes, it works fine.
In French
Cadre -> Options -> Propriétés -> Enchaînements et « de droite à gauche (vertical) » |

I'm turning crazy...
Thank you Andy.
The french name for "text direction" is not really clear.
Actually, it's working for a text in the Frame, but definitely not for the Tab I've pasted in it.
I've tryed to modify the tab object property (try to find a use superordinate object settings in it), but whatever I choose in "anchor on", it doesn't rotate with the frame.
I should miss something here...
Jacqueline, thank you for the "direct tab" rotation, but actually, my tab is done in another document, and quit big..., when I past it, it's considered as an object, not a tab,...
The "last" solution can be to retype it entirely as a new tab in this document... but I will like to avoid it. |

Select your tab, copy it.
In the new document, insert a frame (big enough, if your tab is that big). Then Ctrl-clic on the board of the frame and
I'll say in French, you will find the menus more easily:
