OK, I have been following the thread regarding adding a trend line to an x-y chart using Calc. I can easily add the trendline. Unfortunately, there is no automatic way to put the regression formula on the chart in the way that Excel does it. Nonetheless, it is not too hard to do this by hand by simply using the slope, intercept, and R squared functions to show what the values should be, and then simply adding it as a text box. It is unfortunate that this has to be done by hand, but it least it can be done. Now what I can't figure out, is how to draw something on a chart. For example, I want to just draw a line by hand to divide the chart so that it is better understood. I cannot figure out how to add a drawing object. I have searched the forums, but I cannot seem to find this issue addressed. Does anybody know how to do this?
Maybe you can try this workaround.
Select the chart, copy it. Open a draw document. Paste the chart. Add your line. Select all. Copy and paste in the spreadsheet.
Hope this helps.
