I just downloaded and installed it in /Applications. Then I set "pathtool" to ~/Documents (why ? why not !).
I entered cos(pi/4) and got 0,7071etc, which is correct. I know nothing more for the moment.
The manual is 484 pages in size.
It looks like that we have a lot to learn, but it seems interessant.
I saw this note on the site :
Quote: | If you downloaded the Mac OS X bundle on January 15th, it was broken. A new bundle has been uploaded. |
Maybe you have to redownload the app to get it working ?

I installed it on Tiger (10.4.8) both on Intel and PPC. Just dragged in /Applications and it works fine.
The dmg is FreeMat-3.0-Universal.dmg.
I did not know what to do with the "pathtool", but I can choose whatever location, it works ! ?
Hope you'll be able to install it.

Does Panther support Universal apps ? I dont believe it. Sorry for you
Edit : You can find an older version for PPC here
Click on 2.0
Hope that helps.

I think Panther just sees Universal apps as PPC apps, but can run them without problems. For example, Camino can run on 10.2 or later, and is Universal (no separate version for pre-10.4 users).
However, if FreeMAT 3.0 is compiled with gcc 4 and doesn't make use of the 10.3.9 SDK, then it won't run under Panther ... Jake, have you tried to build it from the source ? |
