For the second month in a row, the Community Relations account has gotten an email from MacUpdate's promo arm, which I quote:

We'd like to partner with you in a promotional offer for our users (quarter of a million daily). Let me know if you're interested. |
Um, haven't you noticed that NeoOffice is GPL freeware? 
(Oh, wait, you're too busy releasing other people's software before those people can get to your site to release their programs themselves with the change logs  Heh, maybe this belongs in Ranting )
I'm a bit worried about those users, though—don't they know Neo is free?

I got one of these today too. My guess is that what they really want to do is use your product as a way to get eyeballs looking at their high-paying advertiser page. You get to pay the cost for this privilege by discounting your product.
Maybe I will write them back just because I was curious as to what sales B.S. they would give me.
