I have looked through this site but have not found an answer yet. I have a spreadsheet with a column called 'email' with addresses in the cells. How do I get them to show up as a link so I can email from the spreadsheet? The show 'show url' box is checked in 'tools'.
Thanks, Dennis

If I type an email address in a cell in Calc it is already shown as a clickable text that open the email client you have choosed (Mail, in my case).

Anyway, try to go to Insert -> Hyperlink -> Mail & News -> eMail ...

Same for me here : Calc figures out when you enter an email address, and will automatically open a new email window when you click it. Or would you like to send an email to all addresses in that column ?

Thanks everyone. What I had done was to import a sheet from Lotus 123 (from an email attachment) and those addy's wouldn't show up. I then named an adjacent column as 'email'. Then I re-entered one addy and it worked. Awesome. Only one thing, I would have to manually do the rest of the 50 addresses to get what I need. You would think that an import translation would do that automatically, yes/no? Is this an enhancemnt to submit? Thanks again for the quick responses, Dennis

Try applying the hyperlink style to the existing column? Not sure if it will work; just a thought....
