Ed and I both found the blank popup bug last night and I have fixed it in the following test patch:

PowerPC:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-4-PowerPC.dmg

Intel:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-4-Intel.dmg

Tested patches on bug 1473 on both Intel MBP and PPC G4

PowerPC:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-4-Test-3-PowerPC.dmg

Intel:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-4-Test-3-Intel.dmg

Context menu pop-up windows appear correctly now!
(Slide shows still run well!)

One minor observation: put cursor at end of word and "control-click" and the font size will have a "circle" next to the size of font in use - however, the circle is so pixelated it looks more like a super bold plus "+" sign. Like I said: just a minor observation.

Hi mickey. Agree that all seems good now. This pixellated circle/bullet: when I open NeoOffice 2.0, I see much the same pixellation, but the bullet is smaller?

This large pixellated circle is an ooo-build bug.

Patrick,

Do you want possible bugs for the test patch put here or in bugzilla.

I encountered a bug with the Insert Manual Break Page dialogue after applying Patch 3 Test 4.

May not even be related.

You can see if it is a normal bug or due to my performance enhancements by reinstalling the official Neo 2.1 Patch 3. If the bug goes away, it is caused by the performance enhancement code and you should just post how to reproduce the bug here.

If the bug exists after reinstalling the official Patch 3, then file a bug in Bugzilla.

FYI. I found some clipping bugs that were causing stray drawing artifacts and I have fixed them in the following test patch:

PowerPC:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-5-PowerPC.dmg

Intel:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-5-Intel.dmg

Tested slide show from bug 1473: Présentation de l'option Spécialité

On Intel MBP: the transitions are choppier and animations are slower to start and if the animation loops there is a pause before it replays. Watched again and entire screen went black and only animations windows popped up but animations were fuzzzed; ie; clapping hands looks like 20 hands applauding.

On PPC G4: the transitions are choppy as they seem to load quicker, a bit of a pause to start some not all of the animations and yet when they play they seem to be playing/looping on a fast mode.

In OOo 2.1: the transitions are smoother yet the animations have a pause before starting and appear to play/loop in fast mode as viewed on PPC.

OK. I found that in the last test patch, NeoOffice was holding on to large offscreen image buffers for too long and, in some cases, the Java memory limit would be exceeded causing the behavior that mickeyinlalaland saw. I have fixed this problem in the following test patch:

PowerPC:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-6-PowerPC.dmg

Intel:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-6-Intel.dmg

FYI. This morning, I also added fixes for bug 2414 in the following test patch:

PowerPC:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-7-PowerPC.dmg

Intel:
http://www.neooffice.org/test/NeoOffice-2.1-Patch-3-Test-7-Intel.dmg

Tested slide show from bug 1473: Présentation de l'option Spécialité - using test-7

Both Intel and PPC perform nicely now! In fact both seem to run slide show at same pace - loading and processing.
Transitions are smooth and animations load quickly and play nicely/smoothly.

I'm not certain if this is related to the test patches or not, but when I opened Neo today, it started up my browser and went to the donate page. Since the advent of 2.1, that's been happening within Neo itself, rather than in the default web browser. Or is there still something that is supposed the trigger the browser on occasion?

I'm afraid I can't give you the exact patch number, probably 4 or 5. They've been coming out so quickly, and I've been under the weather the last 24 hours of so. I've now upgraded to test 7, so I'll keep an eye out for that behavior, but it won't trigger again for a while, presumably.

Starting with Patch 3, we went back to the old way of showing the donation page after I found that forms in web pages displayed in OOo don't work.

Yes, on G5 Quad animations are identical speed as OOo X11 and transitions are nearly as smooth. I suspect it'll be a bit better on Intel machines.

No noticeable flicker at all.

Same results on PPC - PowerBook G4 1.5 GHZ w/ 1GB RAM. Looks much faster and the transitions are fairly smooth (some pausing but 3-5 times faster than before). Very Happy

I just wish Patrick would take a bit more time on the ... patches.
I can hardly get one installed and start testing before the next on appears! Shocked (JK Patrick! Wink )

Thanks for all your efforts. This makes presentations MUCH better in NeoOffice.
Fast enough for my personal needs!

Philip ( I need some micro brew to keep up with all the patches! Wink )
