PostPosted: Fri Jul 20, 2007 4:01 am    Post subject: file names greyed out - can't insert

Hi,

I'm fairly new to NeoOffice and am using version 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 Patch 0.

In Writer, when I try to insert a photo using Insert/Picture/From File, I navigate to where my photos are located but all the file names are greyed out and I can't select any file name.

What have I done wrong?

How do I fix it?

Thanks for any help!

Cheers

Welcome to NeoOffice, Andrew.

Firstly you should update your version of NeoOffice to the latest version: 2.1 Patch 7.

To do this you will need to download the complete version 2.1 installer, the latest Patch (7) and any Language packs that you use. (See the links on the left hand side of this page under Download NeoOffice.)

Secondly what format are the images in that you are trying to import? Do they have the correct file extensions?

HtH.

Andy.

Thanks for the welcome, Andy Smile

I'm downloading the new version you mentioned.

In the meantime, to answer your other question, the files are jpg. I am trying to import photos which were taken on a digital camera and have also been imported to iPhoto. The photos are in the iPhoto library.

I'll see if there is any difference when I've downloaded the new version.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks, Andy.

The new version has fixed the problem that we were having. It is now so simple that my 9 year old daughter was able to do all of her own photo importing, resizing etc.

Cheers,
Andrew

Great News Andrew,

You should make sure that you stay updated to the current versions. Changes and fixes are released on a regular basis. As problems are found the are fixed rapidly. Very Happy

Glad you are finding NeoOffice useful. Let your friends know.
Maybe even consider making some sort of a donation to help the NeoOffice continue being developed.
