|
First, let me explain, I a a newbie to Mac and NeoOffice. I got a MacBook Pro a few days ago and I downloaded NeoOffice for testing. So far, I think it is a great application.
NeoOffice just shows only the fonts located at /System/Library/Fonts. In NeoWiki I read, fonts are also used from /Library/Fonts and ~/Library/Fonts (user fonts folder). I have no specific user fonts, but additional fonts are available in the folder /Library/Fonts.
Do I have to change some settings in NeoOffice to make the fonts in /Library/Fonts accessable? |

Normally NeoOffice loads all the fonts from
/System/Fonts
/System/Library/Fonts
~/Library/Fonts
while starting. You don't need to change settings.
Just try to reboot your Mac. It can solve your problem.

Thanks, reboot did it!
(And I thought all this rebooting was just an issue with Windows.)

It occurs on the Mac from time to time, but not very often. There is no perfect system, but our OS X is a good one
Happy to hear that your problem is solved and welcome to NeoOffice (and to the Mac ).

The Apple prescribed way to add fonts is to use the /Applications/Font Book tool. Once you add a font through the Font Book application, it will be available to NeoOffice the next time you launch NeoOffice.
It is true that you can put font's in several folders like jgd said, but since Apple made that method obsolete after Mac OS X 10.2, Mac OS X won't "discover" new fonts in those folders until the next reboot. At that point, Mac OS X adds any new fonts in those folders to the Font Book application.
