|
I keep a spreadsheet where I keep my login names and passwords and a few days ago the program began auto formatting entires. For example: I wanted to enter a password as Msh290 with a capital "M" but the program would alter it to the lower case msh290. The only way around this was to add a space following the password. In another instance the reverse was occurring.
I've not seen this happen before and, from what I see, I have auto formatting off anyways. Where should I be looking to make this stop happening?
Thanks in advance! |

At first, I suggest you try the 'preferences' menu item..

In that area, the only thing that appears it could apply is "check capitalization" in "Writing Aids"but that sounds like it's just more for spellcheck rather than auto correct. Regardless, checking or unchecking that doesn't seem to fix my problem.
Any other suggestions? |

Try unchecking the Tools :: Cell Contents :: AutoInput menu item. Does unchecking this stop the text substitution?

Bingo! Thanks a lot Patrick!
Is that the option that tells the program to enter in a duplicate entry if a cell above has matching letters? Like if I have "Albert Einstein" entered in a cell and then 5 rows down start typing "albert" it gives me the option to auto fill with "Albert Einstein" again? Id so that is weird because there's no autofill option offered: it just auto corrects my entry. |
