|
I have just downloaded Neo Office onto my Mac. The program seems to be running fine but I have not found the/an icon to place on the Apple Dock. I would like to have this icon present but don't know how to find it.
To start the program now I must open a document on my desktop and continue from there. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much!

And there are two ways to put the icon in the Dock:
1- Drag the icon of NeoOffice.app in the Dock.
2- Open a NeoOffice document. The icon appears in the Dock. Click on it then select Keep in Dock in the contextual menu.

Thank you both very much. Actually, Neo is NOT in my applications folder. The download put it in a "preferences" folder, and within that folder I could not find the application itself, so I could not simply drag the icon to the dock. Solution # 2 however, ctrl click on the icon when the program was running, worked just fine.

Hi Fred
That's curious. The installer would as a matter of course put a file named NeoOffice in your Applications folder. What's in your Pref. folder isn't the application. I suggest you do a Spotlight search to find where the application has been placed. Just a hunch: when the installer runs, you are asked to select a destination, normally your boot disk. If you selected a different destination then, it would explain what's happened. Alternatively, if you have more than one user, could it be in another user's Applications folder?

AFAIK there is only one /Applications folder. It's the same for all users. Mac OS X installs NeoOffice there automatically, unless you specify another location.
