I have a graphic that I have set to the background and adjusted the transparency so I can type over it. I have sent the graphic to the back.
I am successful typing over the graphic. When I click back on the text to highlight it, however, I always select the graphic. I'm satisfied with the way the graphic looks and is placed on the page. Now I want to just edit the text going over the top of it. So far I can't go back and highlight, I must delete the text, set the formatting I want and then type.
There must be a way to stay in text editing mode, but I can't find it. TIA. |

As a workaround: can you click on text just above or below the graphic and the use direction keys to get to the bit of text you want to edit?

You might have a look at this page in NeoWiki. It gives info about inserting an image behind text, in Writer and in Calc.

No, I cannot click above or below the graphic because I have stretched the boundary so the graphic covers the entire column as much as possible. |

Thanks for the link. I double checked my settings and it appears I have done what the wiki describes. I am reading the Solveig Haugland article referenced at the end. |
