We are pleased to announce the release of NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access. From now until 31 March 2009, members and subscribers of the current NeoOffice Early Access Program can download the latest release from the following URL. Starting on 31 March 2009, all users will be able to download NeoOffice 3.0 for free:

http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/earlyaccessdownload.php?fragment=download

The NeoOffice project is funded entirely by donations from our users. Since over half of our donations come from a small percentage of our users, the NeoOffice Early Access Program is a way for us to thank our most generous users by allowing them to download a NeoOffice release before the official release date. More details about the NeoOffice Early Access Program are available at the following URL:

http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/earlyaccess.php

Important: NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access is not a production release and will likely have many undiscovered bugs. If you are not comfortable using unstable software, we recommend that you download NeoOffice 2.2.5 which is our most stable version. NeoOffice 2.2.5 is available to all users from the following URL:

http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/download.php?fragment=download

Because NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access is our first release based on the OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 code, we expect that there will be many support issues. If you have any issues or questions, please visit the NeoWiki or post any questions in the NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum:

http://neowiki.neooffice.org/
http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=Forums

Also, please post any bugs that you find in Bugzilla so that we can
continue to improve NeoOffice:

Since we released NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access a week ago, we have been quickly fixing any significant bugs found by NeoOffice Early Access Program members. To ensure that NeoOffice Early Access Members who are testing this release have the most stable code available, we have released NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access 2 Patch 0.

Members and subscribers of the current NeoOffice Early Access Program who have already installed NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access can upgrade their installation by installing Patch 0 from the following URL:

None - Automatic update check causes NeoOffice to hang

Because NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access 2 is only our second release based on the OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 code, we expect that there will be many support issues. If you have any issues or questions, please visit the NeoWiki or post any questions in the NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum:

Starting on 31 March 2009, NeoOffice 3.0 become available to general public and we expect that there will be a huge number of people downloading on that date. So we recommend that Early Access Program members download NeoOffice 3.0 before 31 March 2009.

Since it is now 31 March 2009 in parts of Asia, we have released NeoOffice 3.0 to the general public.

If you are a NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access Program member and subscriber, you will notice that the Early Access Program download page redirects to the Early Access Program overview page. This is because all NeoOffice 3.0 download links have been moved to the regular NeoOffice download page.

I want to thank all Early Access Program members and subscribers that participated in the NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access Program. Without your participation, we would have not been able to find and fix the various OpenOffice.org and Go-oo crashing and other critical bugs before NeoOffice 3.0. While there are probably still many bugs to be found and fixed, helping us find critical bugs during the Early Access Program helps eliminate problems for all users which, in turn, helps us stretch our limited support resources to more users.

We are pleased to announce the release of NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access. From now until 27 October 2009, members and subscribers of the current NeoOffice Early Access Program can download the latest release from the NeoOffice Early Access Program download page. Starting on 27 October 2009, all users will be able to download NeoOffice 3.0 for free.

The NeoOffice project is funded entirely by donations from our users. Since over half of our donations come from a small percentage of our users, the NeoOffice Early Access Program is a way for us to thank our most generous users by allowing them to download a NeoOffice release before the official release date.

Important: NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access is not a production release and will likely have many undiscovered bugs. If you are not comfortable using unstable software, we recommend that you download NeoOffice 3.0 which is our most stable version.

NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access includes nearly all of the features in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 and includes many of the most commonly used features in Microsoft Office. The only OpenOffice.org feature that is missing from NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access is Mac OS X Universal Access support. Unfortunately, we have not been able integrate OpenOffice.org's Universal Access code into NeoOffice so if you need Universal Access support, we recommend that you use OpenOffice.org, Microsoft Office, or Apple iWork.

This release adds several new features including:

- Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard support
- NeoOffice Mobile
- Native file locking support for local and networked volumes

If you have any issues or questions, please visit the NeoWiki or ask your question in the NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum.

If you have any NeoOffice Mobile questions, please ask your question in the NeoOffice Mobile Support forum.

We are pleased to announce the release of NeoOffice 3.0.1. From now until 27 October 2009, members and subscribers of the current NeoOffice Early Access Program can download the NeoOffice 3.0.1 release from the NeoOffice Early Access Program download page.

Starting on 27 October 2009, all users will be able to download NeoOffice 3.0.1 for free. Based on past releases, download demand is likely to be very high on 27 October 2009 and for several weeks thereafter so we recommend that Early Access Program members download NeoOffice 3.0.1 from the following URL before 27 October 2009 to avoid slow downloads:

http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/earlyaccessdownload.php?fragment=download

NeoOffice 3.0.1 includes all of the code in NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access Patch 2 plus fixes for several bugs reported by our users after Patch 2 was released.

Unfortunately, there is no patch available to upgrade NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access installations to NeoOffice 3.0.1. The bug fixes that we made after NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access Patch 2 was released are too large to include in a patch. As a result, NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access users will need to download and install NeoOffice 3.0.1.

Below is a list of the bugs in NeoOffice 3.0.1 Early Access Patch 2 that we fixed in NeoOffice 3.0.1:

3512 - Some shapes and objects display the incorrect background color or gradient style
3565 - Sun Report Builder causes crash
3566 - Spotlight plugin fails on Snow Leopard

We are pleased to announce the release of NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access. From now until 2 February 2010, members and subscribers of the current NeoOffice Early Access Program can download the latest release from the NeoOffice Early Access Program download page. Starting on 2 February 2010, all users will be able to download NeoOffice 3.0.2 for free.

The NeoOffice project is funded entirely by donations from our users. Since over half of our donations come from a small percentage of our users, the NeoOffice Early Access Program is a way for us to thank our most generous users by allowing them to download a NeoOffice release before the official release date.

Important: NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access is not a production release and will likely have many undiscovered bugs. If you are not comfortable using unstable software, we recommend that you download NeoOffice 3.0.1 which is our most stable version.

This release adds several new features including:

- Native Mac OS X text highlighting
- Open Calc or Impress instead of Writer at launch
- Smoother text kerning

We give top priority to answering any problems posted by our most generous donors. If you are a NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access Program member that has donated US$25 (or €19 or £15 or CA$29 or AU$31) or more within the last year, you can report any problems or ask any questions in our NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum. Giving priority support is a way for us to thank our most generous NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access Program members.

Below is a list of the bugs in NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access that we fixed in NeoOffice 3.0.2:

3579 - Accept/Reject Changes dialog no longer highlights text
3580 - Apple Remote Control does not work on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
3581 - NeoOffice crashes randomly when Mac OS X secure memory is enabled
3582 - Cursor and character postions do not match when using full width justification
3583 - Checkbox does not show "dash" option
3584 - Bad hyperlink displays error message on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
3585 - Highlighting Writer table cells fails
3587 - Some Calc documents crash when the Formula Syntax setting is set to "Excel A1" or "Excel R1C1"

Important note for Calc users who are using "Excel A1" or "Excel R1C1" as the formula syntax: in order to fix bug 3587, we had to remove the ability to use "Excel A1" or "Excel R1C1" as the formula syntax. This feature was an experimental feature developed by Novell's Go-oo engineers that we have included in NeoOffice 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 Early Access. Unfortunately, we have found that Novell's experimental feature makes NeoOffice Calc unstable and since Novell's engineers have removed this feature from their Go-oo releases, we were unable to fix the stability bugs in their code. As a result, we had to remove this feature.

If you are a NeoOffice 3.0.2 Early Access Program member and you have questions, please post any support questions that you have in the NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum:

Since over half of our donations come from a small percentage of our users, the NeoOffice Early Access Program is a way for us to thank our most generous users by allowing them to download a NeoOffice release before the official release date.

Important: NeoOffice 3.1.1 Early Access is not a production release and will likely have many undiscovered bugs. If you are not comfortable using unstable software, we recommend that you download NeoOffice 3.0.2 which is our most stable version.

NeoOffice 3.1.1 Beta adds many Mac OS X features to OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 such as:

- Native Mac OS X text highlighting
- Open Calc or Impress instead of Writer at launch
- NeoOffice Mobile

We give top priority to answering any problems posted by our most generous donors. If you are a NeoOffice 3.1.1 Beta Program member that has donated US$25 (or €19 or £15 or CA$29 or AU$31) or more within the last year, you can report any problems or ask any questions in our NeoOffice Early Access Program Support forum. Giving priority support is a way for us to thank our most generous NeoOffice 3.1.1 Beta Program members.
