Trouble installing NeoOffice2.2.5

None of your volumes is close to full. So that is not the problem. Sad

One more question: which volume are you trying to install NeoOffice on? Is it the main volume or one of the other volumes?

I've mostly been trying to install on Main Disc, which is where it used to be, but I have also tried Second Disc with the same results.

Downloaded the Mac OSX Update Combo package and double clicked on it to install.
1st time I got a Warning box saying "The following disk images failed to mount. Reason codec overrun." (N.B. Had that at the beginning of this story!)

Tried it again and this time the image did mount. Double clicking the .pkg started the installer which eventually came up with "Install Failed - the installer could not validate the contents of the 'MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.6' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance".

Took a while but finally found the time to do the re-install. As suggested I tried the "install and archive" option. All seemed to go Ok. I finally got to the point where there were no more Mac Software updates available (after about 5-6 hours!) and then tried re-installing NeoOffice 2.5.5.

The install gets about 30% of the way through installing files and then comes up with the familiar "Install Failed" message. i tried both downloads with the same result. Log is:-

The Mac OS X installer tool is still complaining that one of the files in the .dmg file is corrupted. So, can you open the .dmg file if it is not already open, launch the /Applications/Utilities/Terminal application, copy the following two commands into the Terminal window, and paste the output into this topic?:

While browsing the NeoOffice site, I realized that I qualified for the NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access program. Downloaded it and it installed and runs fine!

I'd renamed the .dmg so I could have a recent and an old download in the same folder. This made it a lot easier to use diff to compare the files - it claims they are identical:-' Shocked

As mentioned above, I've now successfully downloaded and installed NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access and Patch 0, so I am back up and running. But I still don't understand why the 2.2.5 wouldn't work! One of life's great mysteries?
