With 600 pixels when the recovery screen comes up (which it
alsways seems to) the buttons for recover and cancel are off the
screen. I can hit return, but I can't cancel the recovery. I can't
seem to move the window any higher.
It would be nice if there was a key it said to press to cancel
(or make the buttons fit).

You can cancel the recovery dialog by pressing the Escape key. Then, in the small dialog that will appear, press the Yes button.
I have some bad news. Many of NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org dialogs are of fixed size and can barely fit in an 800 x 600 space and the combined size of the Mac OS X menubar and Dock can leave too little rooom for some OpenOffice.org dialogs.
One possible workaround for these problematic dialogs to move the Mac OS X Dock from the bottom of your screen to the left or right side of your screen before you launch NeoOffice. NeoOffice will then detect that it can use the entire vertical space on your screen and the buttons should not get clipped off the end of the dialog.
Does that workaround help at all?

And do you really need to be running 800x600?
Any Mac that can run NeoOffice can run resolutions greater than 1024x768. |
