|
Whenever I select more that a little text to copy and paste, the scrolling goes wild and I end up selecting pages of text instead of a paragraph. It's very difficult to edit larger selections of text because of this. Often large amounts of text are lost, that I've spent hours creating. Is there a way to do it that works better? When computers were slower, it was never a problem. This has been a problem for many years now. When will this be fixed? Thanks. |

The best way to deal with scrolling while selecting is not do it
Instead, click your pointer at the start point of what you want to be your selection, scroll the document to the location of the endpoint of your selection (or simply move the pointer, if it's on the same page), then hold down shift and click. Now only the text you wanted to be selected is selected.

Good tip from Smokey. This problem isn't unique to NeoOffice, I remember it cropping up in AppleWorks too. |

I'm just parroting Patrick or Fran or Lorinda or someone else; with enough time at the search function, you could find who mentioned it here first, but it wasn't me

Ah, ha! Thank you sardisson.
Been doing it the old way for so long; bad habits die hard, I guess.
Thanks again.
