|
I am set-up to check spelling as I type but notice that often misspellings are missed. If I click on look up in dictionary it comes up with some old English spelling for the word such as "Middel" or "agin". How do I get it to just check modern English?
Thanks,
Peter |

Neither of these spellings are marked as correct in either US or UK English in my version of NeoOffice. Possible something specific about your settings or your document is producing this behaviour. There is a NeoWiki article on Troubleshooting Spellcheck which might help. _________________ MacBook Pro

Are you using Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)? If so, I see that both "Middel" and "agin" are not marked as misspelled. While "agin" is a valid word in the Mac OS X English dictionary so I would not expect it to be marked as misspelled, "Middel" is marked as misspelled in Apple's TextEdit application so something is failing.
I will investigate what is happening when the word "Middel" is typed as that seems to be a fairly test case to use for troubleshooting this problem.

FYI: I have submitted bug 3613 to track this issue.

Apologies for the delay in replying - been on holiday!
Downloaded the patch and it's done the trick correctly identifying many other previously missed misspellings.
Many thanks - yet again!

FYI. I have included the fix in NeoOffice 3.1.1 Patch 2. The patch can be downloaded from the NeoOffice patch download page.
