The units of measurement in my Writer document are set to centimetres, yet the Drawing Object Properties toolbar displays the line thickness in inches (symbolised by the " symbol) - see picture. If I Control-click the object and select Line… from the contextual menu the resulting dialog shows the line thickness in centimetres, but when I choose a thickness the Drawing Object Properties toolbar display shows the approximate equivalent thickness in inches instead. Is there any way I can get it to display in centimetres?

You need to set the Draw module's unit of measure to centimeters. To do this, select the File :: New :: Drawing menu to open a new, empty Draw document. While in that new Draw document, select the Tools :: Options menu and in the dialog that appears, select the NeoOffice Draw :: General item, change the "Units of measurement" listbox to "Centimeters", and click the OK button.

Do the above steps work for you?

Thanks Patrick,

I had tried what you suggested, and the Draw module's units of measurement were already showing centimeters. (I should have mentioned in my OP that I tried that step) Anyway, I tried it again this time and the Draw module's units of measurement were shown as centimeters. Although I had made no changes, I clicked OK and this time it showed correctly when I switched back into Writer.

Thanks again, James

I also found the Draw setting to be "sticky" when I was accessing a Draw object in Writer. I think I had to close my Writer document completely before the changed Draw setting took effect.
