|
After having inadvertently filled the cells of an entire column of the spreadsheet, I attempted to delete the majority of the rows of the spreadsheet, in order to make space to add rows earlier in the spreadsheet. When I did, Neo Crashed. Not immediately, but before the operation was finished.
My guess is that I overloaded it, asking to to delete so many rows. I have another way to deal with my immediate issue, but I wanted to report the crash. Crash log attached
Lorinda
Edit: Forgot to say OSX 10.6.4 (Intel, obviously), Neo 3.1.1, patch 1 |

I was able to reproduce the crash both before and after installing the test patch. Here's a list of steps to replicate. Sorry I didn't have them together earlier:
-Open the attached ods document
-Select all of row 56 by clicking on the row number to the left
-Scroll down to the end of the document
-Shift-click on the row number of the last row (row 1048756); this should select all the rows from row 56 to the end of the document
-Click on the Delete Rows button on the toolbar
After a few seconds, Neo crashes.
new crash log also attached

Thank you for the steps and the sample document. I can reproduce this crashing bug in both NeoOffice 3.1.1 and my Go-oo build. Since OpenOfffice.org 3.1.1 complains that there are too many rows when opening the spreadsheet, this appears to be a bug in Novell's Go-oo code.
I will investigate this bug further and see if I can fix it. Once I have a fix, I will post a test patch for you to try.

FYI. I have created bug 3622 to track this bug.
What is interesting is that this bug only occurs when you delete row 1048576 which is the highest row number allowed in a Calc spreadsheet.

FYI. I have included the fix in NeoOffice 3.1.1 Patch 2. The patch can be downloaded from the NeoOffice patch download page.
