SInce upgrading to the latest Neo my recent documents section on the file menu shows No Documents although I have created many documents since the update. I've not been able to find anything in the preferences to reset this. Any suggestions please.
Thanks,

Did you upgrade NeoOffice 2.2.6 or earlier? If so, I have bad news. Unfortunately, NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code changed the format of many of the preference files starting in OpenOffice.org 3.0. Since NeoOffice 2.2.6 and earlier are based on OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 so, NeoOffice 3.1.2's underlying OpenOffice.org code cannot import the recent documents list so it starts out empty.
As to your problem after creating new documents, have you closed any of the new documents that you have created? I ask because NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code does not add a document to the recent documents list when you save the file. Instead, it waits until you close the document to add it to the list.

Also, if NeoOffice crashes and after that you cancel document recovery, on that startup only, you will not get any menu but the NeoOffice menu (left one) which doesn't have the recent documents.
Restarting NeoOffice fixes that. _________________ "What do you think of Western Civilization?"

I upgraded from the previous version of Neo 3.1.1 or whatever it was.
I have closed the documents and quit Neo but still nothing when I restart. Thanks,

OK. NeoOffice 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 both use the same OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 code so my original theory is definitely not the cause. Since NeoOffice 3.1.2 is really merely NeoOffice 3.1.1 plus fixes for some crashing bugs, I now suspect that one or more of your user preference files has become corrupted.
To test this theory, can you try the following steps?:
1. Quit NeoOffice
2. Move the following folder to your Desktop or Trash. This will force NeoOffice to create a new set of user preference files with default values:
~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-3.0
3. Restart NeoOffice, create a new document, save it, and close it.
After doing the above steps, is the document that you created and saved in the last step added to the File :: Recent Documents menu?

Thanks Patrick,
That's got my recent documents working.
Have swapped the various folders back with auto-correct, auto-text etc and all working OK. The only thing I can't find at present are my templates. I know where they are supposed to be by looking at the paths in preferences, but can't find the folder in finder.
If you can just remind me where they are kept and how to get at them.
Thanks again,

Templates should be in the following folder:
~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-3.0/user/template
Be sure that NeoOffice is not running when you copy any folders are files into an ~/Library/Preferences/NeoOffice-3.0 as changing any preference files or subfolders while NeoOffice is running can cause corruption of your preferences in unexpected places.
