Obviously there's still some work to be done yet with this, including some formatting, but...take that, Microsoft!

Smokey

P.S. If you use another script (not language, but script) that's not featured here (or one of the "Extended Roman" scripts like Vietnamese), let me know. Also, it's been several weeks and I haven't heard back from the Chinese speaker/bug-filer I contacted, so additional sources of Chinese-speaking Neo/J users welcome, too Smile

This looks really good. My only suggestion is that you throw some English in so that we don't lose most North Americans and Western Europeans.

When you feel that it is ready for posting, send me the .sxw file and I will put it on the Neo/J website.

Do all these texts say the same thing? Was a standard text proided for transaltion? If not, are we sure we know exactly what each says? You really wouldn't want any unpleasant surprises if you use these (impressive) samplers but don't know what they actually say in each langauge. Just a caution....

I actually wasn't doing this for the website, but for Jake's "Product Guide" and the Press Kit. I thought someone else was working on making a pretty screenshot-source for you.... Smile

No, they're all different. I didn't want to come up with a "standard text" myself, and after my/our many cries for suggestions produced nothing, I decided just to contact people [Neo/J bug reporters in the various languages/scripts] and see what they sent, so we'd have the screenshot ready for the release of 1.1.

The Arabic is a placeholder until I find something I like (I had al-Mutanabbi in mind), the Cyrillic is from a press release about a film festival done by a non-profit, the Devanagari is the beginning of a famous Hindi novel [from wikisource], the Hebrew talks about the features of Neo/J, the Japanese is an ancient poem as is the Korean. There's some Cicero you can't see. I don't have translations of all of them, but I have no reason to doubt the satisfied bug-filers who provided each... Smile (Point taken, of course.)
