I am new to NeoOffice. Thanks for doing this Patrick and Ed. I'm an old guy with lots of SQL Server and MS Access in my system. A few years back, my grandson conned me into a Mac. NeoOffice is refreshing!

Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear from people who notice and appreciate our work. Although we definitely need to give a lot of credit to Oracle's OpenOffice.org engineers. Without their work, Ed and I would have never been able to start NeoOffice back in 2003.

To use a car analogy, OpenOffice.org is the "stock" version designed and built by the factory and NeoOffice is the customized or "souped up" version of OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X. Back when we started NeoOffice, there was no OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X so we bent and twisted the OpenOffice.org code to look as Mac-like as possible. Although it took us many years and 5 after we released our first version OpenOffice.org created their own Mac OS X version, we still are trying to add features to NeoOffice that Mac OS X users want and need.

Since donors like yourself fund all of our work, we rely on our donors to propose new features that we should implement. Any donor who has donated US$25 or more in the last year can post a new feature request in this forum. This includes yourself.

While most new feature requests are not feasible to implement, we do evaluate the feasibility of all new feature requests posted in this forum. If it is feasible for 2 Mac engineers like Ed and I to implement, we'll then ask other donors to post their vote and, if enough donors tell us they want the requested feature, we then start working on it.

So feel free to post your new feature requests. Again, they may be more than our meager funding can handle, but we will definitely evaluated every proposal posted in this forum.

Patrick
