NeoOffice/J will not launch. It bouces in dock a few times then the icon disappears. I have tried updating to the latest version and reinstalling NeoOffice/J but nothing helps. Permissions repair does nothing.

Permissions might still be off. Try showing the content of the Neo/J package, then go to MacOS and check is soffice.bin has the right permissions (I use terminal).

I would bet that Java 1.3.1 is corrupted on your machine. An easy way to test tihs is to install the Java 1.4.x Performance Test Patch available at the following URL:

http://trinity.neooffice.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=100

If Neo/J starts after installing this patch, then you know that Java 1.3.1 is corrupted.

Well, that worked. Kinda surprising...this machine is only a week old. Oh well. So what am I supposed to do to repair Java?

It is fixed now. There was a problem with some installations of Tiger that caused Neo/J and any other program (like OpenOffice/X11) to not work due to a faulty installation of Java. Running the Java updater fixed them.
