Flip came to visit me over the weekend and brought me a gift...an ostrich egg. I'm still eating it. I figured it might give some a kick to put it in perspective:
(the wine kicked b4 the egg)

heh My inlaws used to raise Emu's. Annoying little things, but they are 97% fat free and taste just like steak. mmmm. |

Emu burgers from the local emu farm. Yes, we did or do still have them down here. I don't know if they are as I don't go to that resturant anymore.
BTW, an ostrich egg is supposed to be equivelent to one dozen large chicken eggs.

I've just been on honeymoon on Kefalonia - an Ionian Greek island next to Ithaka (from where Oddyseus hails) - and visited the monastery of Saint Gerasimo, the patron saint of the deranged. A mystery as yet unsolved: in the grounds of the monastery was an enclosure with a pair of ostriches roaming around in it; in the church itself, hanging from the main chandelier, 3 ostrich eggs.
Why?
If I ever find out, I'll tell you...

Isn't that kind of explanation enough?
Of course, now I have an ostrich egg in the middle of an empty G4 Cube case in my kitchen...probably is just about as random.
