I wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes. I'm using neooffice/j at the moment and i was woundering if the latest open office performed quicker. and whether it has a pretty looking interface. Oh and do you have to do all that x11 stuff cos i don't understand any of that.

This information should not have been too hard to find, but here is a pointer: http://neowiki.sixthcrusade.com/index.php/NeoOffice/J_Feature_Comparison.

The latest development versions (1.9.x) I think are marginally faster due to code replacement and optimizations, just as 1.1.x was a bit faster than 1.0.x.

Smokey:

There are several open issues on the 2.0 beta series that would preclude using them in a production environment. I highly recommend using the 1.1 series for production work. I'm working on a 1.1.5 build for Tiger and there are several 1.1.5 builds for Panther (Google is definately your friend to find these.) I'm also working on incorporating 1.1.5 into Neo/J right now but have one issue which needs to be resolved with Patrick/Ed's assistance.

That's why I always call it a development version! Wink

I need to grab one of the recent builds and see if the installer still fubars everyone's permissions...I'm guessing it does since I haven't seen any activity on the issue about the bug....
