|
Hi gang,
For the life of me I cannot figure out hot to get bullets to appear as anything other than a blank space. Is this just a limitation of Ooo1.0.3, or is there a font I need to install for these to work?
Thanks!

Hello,
I have had that problem at some point. It turned out that the default font used for bullets did not kern properly. I changed the font in one of the preferences screens and everything is fine now.

That was it. By switching the default font to Times from New Times Roman caused the bullets to show up.
Thanks!

Did changing the default font fix the missing bullets in text and/or presentation documents? Bullets are missing in my presenetation documents since I updated to the latest version of Apple's X11 which supports Panther. |

Actually, I upgraded to Panther and my bullets are also missing. I use Verdana as my default font, which used to work with Jaguar. I'll have to check wether I am using the right bullet character, but I am at work right now and the Mac's as home...
There are three things to check I can think of :
- default font
- Existence of the bullet character
- Paragraph indentation on the bullets.
However, since I did not reinstall OOo when I replaced my cat, I would like to know if anybody gets his/her bullets whith OOo 1.0.3 and Panther.

Actually, I discovered what the difference was between my two machines were. Both had OpenOffice installed, but one was the BSD Mall Office 2.0 and the other was the free ooo. The BSD one converts more fonts properly and that worked. I installed it on the other computer and then it worked as well. The better look, improved printing, and font conversions were worth the $40 to me as it runs a lot better (under x11) than the free version.
