Ed,
I found that there is some corruption in our cvs server. Specifically, when doing a "cvs log" for the neojava/vcl/java/source/window/salframe.cxx file, the following error is produced:
Code:
Assertion failed: g_rcsbuf, file rcs.cpp, line 271
cvs server: warning: duplicate key `log' in version `1.71.2.6' of RCS file `/cvs/neojava/vcl/java/source/window/salframe.cxx,v'
cvs [server aborted]: received abort signal
cvs log: warning: unrecognized response `Segmentation fault' from cvs server
cvs [log aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)
Don't know if there is anything we can do, but I'd thought I'd report it before I forgot about it.

(sorry, been AWOL doing extensive house cleaning in preparation for an extended visit from my folks...can't exactly simply shift things aroudn to other rooms )
Wonk. That's a bit odd. I've got CVS backups from a while so I'll go in and see what I can do. Offhand it's not a drive space issue as the main CVS server has enough free space on all of its temp volumes and the like. Looking through the ,v file, that revision was from back when we were still using the old Win NT server, so it may have been corrupted for a while.
I'll go in later tonight when I get back from work and see what I can do to fix that issue. Thankfully CVS uses text for text files and has a sane layout (SourceSafe I hate you!!). Thus far have you seen it only with that single file?

Well, here's the update. I looked at the ,v file and that particular revision had a duplicate entry for some reason. I manually fixed up the ,v file, so cvs log should now work on the file (though I've only tested the validity of the edit via rcs). I did a CVS server backup prior to fixing the ,v file, so let me know if anything seems wrong with it so I could run back to the backup.
