|
I just downloaded the 0.8 version and I must say I am impressed with the quality: most of it 'just works'. However I hit one snag. I tried to convert a 68 page OOo manual from sxw format to PDF by printing it, and then save it as PDF. However, after eight pages the printing stalls, and all I can do is Force Quit NeoOffice/J.
I was wondering if other people have a similar experience, or have I just hit my very own bug?

unfortunatly i could not reproduce this. I tried two docs, on 87 pages just text, the other 91 with text, tables, graphics, etc. both printed to PDF.
however, with the second doc, there was a stall on the first page of nearly a minute before it continued with the rest of the printing.
try other documents and see if it is specific to that document.
hope that helps,

Are there are Java exceptions when you open Console.app? The ones to really watch for are OutOfMemoryError exceptions.

|
I tried the same document on another machine. Now it stopped printing after 7 pages.
I did, however, get the document to export to PDF on OpenOffice 1.1.0 on Linux. So apparently it is a 1.0.3. problem.
If you want to, I can send the document (actually it is a dutch translation of a german OO Writer manual). |

This sounds like a real bug if it is stopping on page 7.
Can you open a bug in http://bugzilla.neooffice.org and attach the document to the bug?

Is this still a problem? I have not seen any bugs filed in Bugzilla or any other information that would enable me to replicate this problem so I assume that you solved the problem yourself.
If this is still a problem, a great way to ensure that the bug never gets fixed is to never file a bug report.

Patrick, I could not find a way to attach documents, so I added a URL where you can find the documents. |
