Is there any way to do a slide show without the X11 menus at the top?

Right now the only way to do so with OpenOffice.org is to run your X server in "rooted" mode. This is when the entire screen is taken over by the X11 environment. Looking through Apple X11 b3, I think the rooted vs. rootless (e.g. windows that are intermingled with other OS X windows) is only available to XFree86 and XDarwin/OrorborOS X.

Running in "rooted" mode is currently the only way any X11 application can hide the menubar.

If your'e using XFree86 and XDarwin you can shift between rooted and rootless with the XDarwin > Preferences settings.
