Have you run OpenOffice.org 1.1.1 from a terminal yet? The "Technology Preview" installer is precisely that, a preview, and doesn't install the preconfigured goodness needed for the first launch of OOo from the Start OOo application.
Once OOo is started once from a Terminal, you should be able to find the proper entry in Start OOo's Preferences and have it handle the file mappings and the like. I don't think Kevin's scripts combat with Start OOo, but they may be locked in some type of a holy war. If they were, though, I think Terry would have mentioned so by now
I wanted to use «Start OOo» to convert some fonts to .ttf
(1) I have now found a converter - «TTConverter1.5»
(2) OOo 1.1.1 comes with «Begin_OOorg» which does the startup job very nicely.
(3) I have started using «Begin_OOorg» in X11. OOo starts up much faster.
(4) I couldn't get «Start OOo» to start OOo 1.1.0 either. However I will wait for further advancements.
I appreciate your attention. _________________ Sláinte!
