|
Hi,
Another serious error in Ooo.org 1.1.2 I found was that whenever I try to open a template from the AutoPilot menu under File>Auto Pilot
I get the following error
Code: | An unrecoverable error has occured.
All modified files have been saved an can probably be recovered at program restart.
|
And when I click ok the X11 quits.
Any comments?
Machine specks:
Mac OS X 10.3.4
G4 733 512MB
Thanks for your time |

Hmm...I haven't seen any problems running autopilots. I ran through the Web Page autopilot during testing as that was one of the ones that gave 1.0.3 some problems. Can you post the crashlog here?

|
Hi Ed,
FWIW, both errors come from an incomplete user instalaltion. Perhaps from an incorrect upgrade install. Perhaps the user had TP4 and then did not clean it out properly before installing GM or visa versa.
All of these errors will go away after a clean install with the ~/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice.org1.1.2 folder removed and all lines removed from .sversionrc so that a new user installation is done.
I sometimes think we should have changed the official name from OpenOffice.org1.1.2 to OpenOffice.org1.1.2GM just to prevent such difficulties (use a new key!).

I'm having the same problem on my end. I upgraded to 1.1.2 from 1.0.3 incorrectly (I deleted 1.0.3 before installing 1.1.2). I have since done everything I could find to remove all traces of openoffice (including (~)/Library/Preferences/OpenOffice.org* directories and ~/.sversionrc) and do a clean 1.1.2 install. Still, I am unable to run the Form, Website or Report autopilots. I either get the error listed in the first post or "Error loading BASIC of document".
I'm running os x 10.3.4. |

Are you running under the user account from which the application was installed or a different user account? I just ran the web autopilot myself and didn't encounter any issues on my 10.3.4 test machine. Make sure you nuke ~/.sversionrc and the OpenOffice.org1.1.2 directories for all of the user accounts when upgrading, not just one. OpenOffice.org installs these files for each individual user account.
